I'm a student here at OSU. How can I help?
You are like any of us. You can get involved with Sankalpa and -
1) Attend our bi-weekly meetings to discuss and review projects,
2) Help plan, organize and volunteer at fundraising events,
3) Become a Sankalpa executive board member someday to help shape Sankalpa better, and
4) Of course, donate money to our organization (no amount is small or big)
But I am usually too busy with classes to attend meetings. What can I do?
Of course, your priority is and should be your studies - reason you are here, right! You can limit yourselves to attending specific fundraising events like football games. We have 7 home games every year. Even if you come for 2-3 games thats a big help for us. Additionally, if you are from India and visit our homeland once in a while, contact us before visiting and may be you can do a site visit for us - its a unique opporunity to see how we are making a difference in the lives of few.
How can people, not from Columbus, be involved?
For now, you can always donate money and follow our projects page to keep up with the funds that disperse. You can donate online by paypal (one of the most reliable online money transaction services) or mail your checks to:
2095 Resource Room,
1739 N. High Street,
Columbus, OH - 43210,
Also, if you visit India from time to time, contact us and we can arrange for a site visit if there is a project near by your place of visit. Site visits can be a life changing experience. You get the opportunity to see the difference Sankalpa (and I am sure others like us) are making. It will also benefit us a lot if someone verifies the authenticity of the project by personal visit.
Join hands with Sankalpa
A young man was picking up objects off the beach and tossing them out into the sea. A second man approached him, and saw that the objects were starfish. "Why in the world are you throwing starfish into the water?"
"If the starfish are still on the beach when the tide goes out and the sun rises high in the sky, they will die," replied the young man.
"That's ridiculous. There are thousands of miles of beach and millions of starfish. You can't really believe that what you're doing could possibly make a difference!"
The young man picked up another starfish, paused thoughtfully, and remarked as he tossed it out into the waves, "It makes a difference to this one."

Even a bit of your help can make a huge difference in someone's life. There are a lot of ways you can contribute.
