Through my journey here at OSU, I have acquired a lot of knowledge, skills, and relationships with faculty, mentors, upperclassmen, and peers. I am passionate about coming up with innovative solutions using technology and AI to make sure healthcare is equitable and accessible for all individuals, specifically immigrants and refugees. Along with the opportunities that I am receiving from the university, I want to make sure to give back to the community and my roots that helped me get here. And, Sankalpa is an integral way to do just that!

As the Co-chair of Community Outreach, I work closely with the other executive team members in the funding approval process of the submitted proposals. Along with my fellow co-chair, I am the point-of-contact between Sankalpa and the external non-profit organizations (NPO's). Some of my responsibilities include:

• Scout and reach out to potential NPO’s about Sankalpa funding

• Planning and working with NPO’s to get the proposals

• Coordinate with the other members of Sankalpa to discuss the proposals

• Communicate with NPO’s about Sankalpa’s mission and values

• Maintain connection and communicate with funded NPO’s about their progress and future direction

In addition to these leadership duties, I volunteer at Football games with other Sankalpa members at the concession stands to raise money for funding NPOs. I love the time that I dedicate to this organization as I am surrounded by passionate individuals driven to make a change!
