FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

So you have questions? Well, we have the answers!

Here are some frequently asked questions about our organization.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

HOW DOES SANKALPA RAISE FUNDS?

We currently raise a majority of our funds by hosting a stand during the Ohio State Buckeye Football Games. We make the stadium our home for 6-8 hours and sell food: popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, and drinks. We get a cut of the total profits we make and use that amount to fund the NGO projects in India.

I'm a student here at the OSU. How can I help?

You're just like any of us! Go ahead and join our cause by ...

  • Get involved with Sankalpa and make a difference in the community.

  • Attend bi-weekly meetings to discuss and review projects.

  • Help plan, organize, and volunteer at fundraising events.

  • Aspire to become a Sankalpa executive board member and help shape the organization.

  • Donate money to support our mission (no amount is too small).

But I am usually too busy with classes to attend meetings. What can I do?

Of course, your priority is and should be your academics - reason you are here, right! You can limit yourselves to attending specific fundraising events like football games. We have 7 home games every year. Even if you come for 2-3 games thats a big help for us. Additionally, if you are from India and visit our homeland once in a while, contact us before visiting and may be you can do a site visit for us - its a unique opporunity to see how we are making a difference in the lives of few.

How can people, not from Columbus, be involved?

For now, you can always donate money and follow our projects page to keep up with the funds that disperse. You can donate online by paypal (one of the most reliable online money transaction services) or mail your checks to:

Sankalpa, 2095 Resource Room, 1739 N. High Street, Columbus, OH - 43210, USA

Also, if you visit India from time to time, contact us and we can arrange for a site visit if there is a project near by your place of visit. Site visits can be a life changing experience. You get the opportunity to see the difference Sankalpa (and I am sure others like us) are making. It will also benefit us a lot if someone verifies the authenticity of the project by personal visit.
