President

In my doctoral thesis work, I am investigating the mechanism behind the anti cancer action of a naturally occuring metabolite for potential translation as a novel therapeutic in pancreatic cancer. In this regard, I am interested in stress regulatory pathways and their role in carcinogenesis, drug resistance and immunosuppression affecting cancer progression. I was introduced to Sankalpa by the former graduate student community here at OSU, who were equally passionate about volunteering, community service and making a difference in the lives of people in India. In my role as President, I direct the fundraising and funding goals of Sankalpa while working with the rest of the executive committee. I am the point of contact for potential institutions that require funding for communication purposes. I organize and drive the monthly meetings to encourage discussions about project proposals and evolution in Sankalpa's goals. I coordinate with the executive team to plan social and informational events.  An organization is as strong as its members and Sankalpa is lucky to have a dedicated team who provide time to fulfil their duties and lead certain aspects of running the organization.  Sankalpa is immensely lucky to have the support of multiple OSU students who help with volunteering at the OSU Football games in Fall. We are also fortunate to partner with fellow student organizations like AID@OSU and ISA and I am responsible for organizing and maintaining these relationships.
